Adlai has been grown in the Philippines for generations but only recently has it appeared in the market. Adlai looks and tastes just like traditional rice, but its nutritional values and benefits are what sets it apart from every other grain.
It can be cooked and processed as the main ingredient for many rice-based Filipino favorites such as kakanin, champorado, and arroz caldo to name a few. With its unique consistency, Adlai can also be used as substitute for pasta.
Among any other cereal grain, white rice is the most common grain we Filipinos eat. Adlai's flavor is highly comparable to that of white rice more than any other rice alternative; however, Adlai gives you 3 times the energy food content and 4 times the protein than that of white rice.
Quinoa, one of the more popular super grain choices, is rich in protein, manganese and dietary fibers; however, it also comes at a heftier price. Adlai provides you with more of the same benefits but at less the cost.
